Well, sure his value is down in terms of what he's shown on the field, but I think more GM's recognize that he is only 22 years old and has tons of potential.

Whether or not they choose to take a gamble with him is their decision.

Andrew,
Do you think Young still has potential to be a great player? Because at this point his value is lower than ever before. It might make more sense to hold onto Young and hope he pans out.

Yeah, I don't know if I would run with that one. It sounds good, and I wouldn't necessarily be upset if it went down, though.

David,
yeah that trade seems a little crazy, but who knows. I don't think I would go for it, I think Atkins is overrated and wouldn't be a big enough boost to give up Delmon. Last year may have been an abberation, but his OPS+ was 97. Delmon's was 102. Brian Buscher's was 100, in limited duty. Delmon is much younger and has much more room to get better. Atkins had a monstrous year in 2006, a decent year in 2007, and was mediocre last year.

Just read over at MLBTR that Twins are talking with the rays and Rockies on a three-way trade. The Twins would send (at least) Young to the Rays who would send either Sonnanstine or Jackson to the Rockies as a way of facilitating Atkins to the Twins! I can't decide if I would bite on that or not!
